WOODGREEN HAND BELL RINGERS

Woodgreen had Handbell teams for over 50 years up until 1999 and became members of the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain Society when it was formed in 1967.

In the early days, there were three teams of 6-8 players. The teams entertained at many events: church services, especially at Christmas, care homes, WI, etc. The team had their own stand at the Fordingbridge Show and were frequent award winners at the Devizes Music Festival.

By 1999, numbers had diminished to just four players and the decision was made to sell the handbells with the proceeds being given to the Salisbury Hospice Trust.
