The 1974 BBC2 documentary “The Village on the Wall” features the murals in the Village Hall and interviews the artists and many of the locals for their memories of life in Woodgreen. This version of the film includes subtitles identifying the participants and providing some background information (many thanks to John Brewer for this, and also for the additional information below).
The following maps show where the main characters in the programme lived and some of the locations mentioned in the film.
The first version is taken from the 1968 OS map indicating the changes made through the 1970s with the construction of St. George’s Cottages. A second map, below the key, is a schematic version from the 2021 Woodgreen Gazetteer produced by Woodgreen Village Trust showing how this relates to the current village. Many house names have changed so these have not been listed.
